The Evans Genera Dry brings a controlled, focused voice to your snare by pairing a single ply of 10mil coated film with built-in overtone management. Unlike standard single-ply heads, this design uses a 2mil control ring on the underside that floats freely with the head rather than being bonded to it—cutting excess overtones and keeping sustain in check without deadening the tone.
Adding to that control, Evans drilled precision dry vents around the head’s perimeter. These vents work alongside the floating ring to further shorten sustain and reduce ringing, giving you a drier, more focused snare response that still retains the fat, full-bodied feel typically associated with double-ply heads.
