The LP Afuche/Cabasa has been a percussion staple for more than four decades, prized for the raspy, shimmering scrape sound it adds to grooves of every style. Steel beads coiled around a ridged cylinder create the effect: twist, shake, or strike against your palm to dial in everything from soft shuffles to driving accents.
This LP234B version features a large wooden body finished in a natural look, giving it a warmer tone and higher output than the smaller models in the line. The bigger shell means more surface area for the bead loops to work against, so you get added volume and sustain when you need the instrument to cut through a mix.
