Description
Born from the punk and metal explosion of the late 1970s, the Paiste Rude Classic series has stayed true to its mission since 1980: deliver raw, merciless, and powerful sound for musicians who play hard. This 10″ Rude Splash is cast from CuSn8 bronze (also called “2002 Bronze”) and built heavy, giving it a strong, explosive voice rather than a delicate accent.
- Size: 10″
- Weight: Heavy
- Alloy: CuSn8 Bronze (2002 Bronze)
- Volume: Medium to loud
- Sustain: Medium short
- Bell Character: Integrated
- Stick Sound: Fairly washy
Strike it and you get a bright, full, high-pitched burst with real intensity – a wide, complex frequency spread that reads as explosive rather than thin. Response is quick and the feel is lively, making it well suited to players who need their accents to be heard over aggressive guitars and hard-hitting drums. Sonically, expect raw, metallic character with sparkling top end, icy brightness, and heavy mid-range harmonics that give it a cutting edge in a mix.
Best suited for medium loud to extremely loud playing situations, live or in the studio, across Punk, Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, and Rock/Metal crossover styles and their modern derivatives. Worth noting: running two of these together can double as an unconventional, punchy mini hi-hat setup for players wanting something different.
