The Pioneer DJ HDJ-500 (HDJ-500T-K) is built to handle more than just DJ sets. Swap between a coiled cable for booth use and a straight, mic-equipped cord for phone calls and casual listening on the go – both cords come included and interchange easily depending on what you’re doing.
Behind the deck, the right earpiece rotates up to 60 degrees for one-ear monitoring, and the headband keeps enough tension to hold that position securely while you cue up the next track.
Sound comes from a 40mm driver with a 19-micrometer diaphragm and copper-clad aluminum wire voice coil – the same core audio design used in Pioneer’s HDJ-500 series – tuned to bring out low and mid frequencies so kicks and snares stay easy to pick apart, which helps with beatmatching whether you’re starting out or already experienced.
Styling borrows cues from Pioneer’s flagship HDJ-2000, with a magnesium alloy frame that keeps weight down without sacrificing durability. Urethane ear pads wrapped in leather shape themselves to your head for a fit that stays put during long sessions or travel.
