The Fishman SBT-HP is part of Fishman’s Soundboard Transducer (SBT) lineup, built to pick up sound directly from a flat soundboard rather than from a bridge-mounted sensor. By sensing the tiny vibrations moving through the wood, it delivers a natural, transparent tone that stays true to the instrument’s acoustic character.
This particular model is set up for harp and piano, though like other SBT pickups it can be mounted on virtually any acoustic stringed instrument with a flat soundboard. It comes with a long lead wire and a standard 1/4″ jack, giving you flexibility when it comes to placement and setup across different instruments.
Because the SBT-HP works through surface contact rather than a fixed bridge mount, installation is simple and doesn’t require any permanent changes to your instrument. For players who want the most accurate reproduction of their instrument’s voice, pairing this pickup with an impedance-matching preamp – such as Fishman’s Platinum Stage, Platinum Pro EQ, or Powerjack – will let it perform at its best.
