Description
The HD 650 sits at the top of Sennheiser’s dynamic hi-fi headphone lineup, built for listeners who want an honest, natural presentation rather than an artificially hyped one. This used pair still carries the qualities that made the HD 650 a benchmark: an open-back design paired with drivers matched in pairs to tight 1 dB tolerances for consistent left/right balance.
Comfort was clearly a priority in the original engineering. The elliptical earcups follow the natural shape of the ear, and the acoustic silk lining inside each cup helps deliver even damping across the frequency range rather than uneven resonance peaks. Lightweight aluminum voice coils keep transient response sharp, so fast musical passages stay articulate.
The detachable cable is worth noting on its own: modulated, Kevlar-reinforced, and made from highly conductive OFC copper, it’s designed to resist handling noise and structure-borne vibration — a small detail that matters when you’re listening critically. A titanium/silver finish rounds out the build.
