Description
Getting a tight, isolated drum sound is tough when cymbals keep bleeding into every close mic. The CrashGuard from Primacoustic tackles that problem directly by physically shielding the microphone from nearby cymbal wash, so engineers can push the attack and high end of a drum mic without the cymbals flooding the signal.
The shield itself is built from lightweight, high-impact ABS plastic and mounts right onto the boom arm, secured in place by the microphone’s own clip – no extra hardware needed. Inside, it’s fully lined with high-density open cell acoustic foam that tames internal reflections, keeping the captured sound accurate rather than boxy. A smart cutout for cable access also lets you angle the mic freely to dial in the exact placement you need.
Once mounted, the CrashGuard cuts down on cymbal spill reaching the drum mic, which means each drum can be shaped and mixed with far more precision. It’s been checked against a wide range of popular instrument mic brands, though due to variations in mic size and clip design, not every model will fit perfectly – check with your Primacoustic dealer if you’re unsure about your specific mic.
