The Vic Firth American Classic 85A splits the difference between an 8D and a 5A, giving drummers a stick that feels lighter in hand without sacrificing control. Like the rest of the American Classic line, the 85A is turned from select hickory. This dense wood offers minimal flex, which translates into a stronger, more defined sound at the tip, plus the durability to handle repeated impact without breaking down quickly. The tear drop tip carries a deep back-cut, sharpening cymbal articulation and giving each stroke a cleaner attack.
