Description
Standard drumsticks are often too long and too heavy for a beginning drummer’s hands, which makes early practice harder than it needs to be. Vic Firth designed the American Classic Kidsticks specifically to solve that problem, scaling the stick down to a size that suits kids roughly ages 3 to 8.
- Length: 13″
- Diameter: .520″
- Wood tip for a focused, articulate sound
Like every stick in the American Classic series, Kidsticks are turned from select hickory. Hickory is dense with very little flex, which gives the stick a stronger, more defined tone while still standing up to the bumps and mis-hits that come with learning. The wood tips carry an aggressive back-cut, a shaping detail that improves cymbal feedback and helps young players start to hear the difference between a clean hit and a glancing one.
The result is a stick that behaves like a real drumstick – not a toy – just built at a scale that matches a beginner’s grip and reach, so technique can develop naturally instead of being fought against.
A practical pick for beginner drum kits, music school programs, or as a stocking stuffer for a young player getting their first pair of sticks.
